Material Specifications

After learning about our unique wire partitions, customers often want to learn more about the different materials being used. We offer a wide range of sizes, designs, and materials in order to satisfy each of our customers. In fact, we even create bespoke systems for clients who have unique specifications. Here is a list of some of the most common wire partition material specifications available for purchase.

Panels

Our panels are typically constructed with 2″ x 1″ rectangular mesh with 10-gauge steel woven and crimped throughout. In addition, this portion is welded securely to a frame with a measurement of 1.25″ x 1.25″ x 0.125″. There are 0.875″ x 0.4375″ slotted holes designed to receive 0.375″ mounting hardware. All panels that measure between four and six feet in width need to have at least one 0.25″ x 0.75″ flat stiffener. Panels that are wider will receive two of these stiffeners instead of one. Every panel needs to be tightly fastened to posts that have 0.375″ x 3.0″ plated nuts and bolts.

Hinged Doors

Each hinged door should be built out of similar materials as the accompanying panels that have 0.25″ x 0.75″ horizontal stiffeners extending the entire width. There will also be two diagonal 0.25″ x 0.75″ stiffeners that reach from the corner to the center. Each hinged door will also be equipped with sturdy padlock lugs and three different 4″ x 4″ pin hinges. There will also be a slam bar and pick plate assembly. There is an option for a cylinder lock as well.

Sliding Doors

Similar to hinged doors, sliding doors are also to be made from similar materials as the system’s panels. Sliding doors will have two 0.25″ x 0.75″ stiffeners that rest in a horizontal position and extend the entire width of the unit. There will also be two 0.25 x 0.75″ vertical stiffeners that extend from the top or bottom to the center. Sliding doors should also be constructed with two trolley trucks with four wheels each. There will also be a door track, doorkeeper assembly, and padlock lugs. Again, there is a cylinder lock option available for clients who prefer this spec.

Posts

Posts will be constructed from 2″ x 2″ 14-gauge tubing. There will also be flat base plates made from 2″ x 7″ x 0.25″ steel. Posts will have two 0.4375″ round holes used for anchoring the units in place. Each of these will be welded to the tubes for enhanced sturdiness. The posts are drilled with 0.5″ holes that accept robust hardware in order to mount panels. These anchors are up to factory standards.

Hardware

The hardware provided with the wire partitions should be 0.375″ standard thread size for two plated bolts and nuts. The floor anchors are also a 0.375 measurement and a wedge-type.

Finish

All of the non-plated items receive a single coat of acrylic enamel that is gray in color. There is tough up paint included in every shipment for clients who want to add some more color to any of these wire partition material specifications.
